We are pleased to be represented by our colleague, Gaurav, who presented his research at the STEELSIM 2025 Conference, organized by the Czech Metallurgical Society in partnership with TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. and the Statutory City of Třinec, Czech Republic. He submitted an article to the conference proceedings titled “Thermodynamic Analysis of Potential Slag System for Nitrogen Removal in BOF Converters” and also presented a poster on the same topic. His work involved FactSage 7.0 simulations to calculate the partition ratios of nitrogen in steel-slag systems across different stages of the BOF blow period. The study proposes a robust thermodynamic framework for slag design and process optimization, offering new insights into nitrogen control during steelmaking.
” I would like to sincerely thank Professor Neslihan Dogan for giving me this incredible opportunity and for her invaluable guidance throughout.
The SteelSIM 2025 Conference was an outstanding experience both as a platform for learning and for building new professional connections. The event fostered an environment rich in knowledge sharing, with insightful discussions on modeling and simulation techniques, as well as the latest technical advancements in steelmaking. Equally valuable were the networking opportunities, which allowed me to connect meaningfully with professionals and researchers across borders and disciplines.”
